Youthsafe runs a number of different professional development sessions or workshops for teachers, university students studying education and others in the community to help them understand issues that impact on young people’s health, safety and wellbeing. Sessions include:

  • Adolescent brain development and risk taking
  • Consulting with young people
  • Road Safety

We are flexible and can arrange multiple bookings or concurrent sessions.

All our sessions are available throughout the Sydney metropolitan area. Packages can be developed for regions outside Sydney including The Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Illawarra regions.

When

At a time convenient to your parent community. The session can be delivered prior to P&C or P&F meeting or any other events either during the day or evening.

Duration

Up to one hour, including Q&A time (flexible)

Content

  • What are the factor - internal and external - that influence a young person's behavior?
  • How do these then impact on young people's behavior and risk taking tendencies?
  • Simple stratergies that will support young people ta stay safer, covering a range of scenarios.

Content can be adjusted to suit your school community or any specific concerns families may have.
